Easter Mantel

Easter Mantel - Take Two!  I some how deleted the first post I did - so this is going to read quite different from the original post! 

I went a little Easter Egg Crazy with my mantel this year. 

I made the Egg Garland from a piece of greenery I bought for $6.99, a spring garland I purchased at Joann Fabrics (with coupon I paid about $4.00 for it) some eggs I had with hanging ribbons already attached and some fishing line. 

I cut up the greenery and the garland and used the wire from ends of each piece to wind together until I had one long piece.  I tied the eggs on with fishing line instead of having the ribbon over the top of half the greenery - they just hung nicer this way and used 3M hooks to hang it.

I found these two bunnies at Stein Mart - they spoke to me!!  I had the various sized Easter Eggs to place around and added one of my favorite spring flowers, a hyacinth. 

At the other end I used my church bird house, some potted grass, more eggs and 3 pillar candles.  I wrapped some brown twine around my candles because it reminded me of a crown of thorns.  Topped it all of with my pastel words - EASTER EGGS! and walla!  my Easter Mantel

St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

I'm not a spec of Irish but I was born on St. Patrick's Day and tend to celebrate the day - often with a green beer.  My tablescape is not really a beer drinking kind of setting but a lot of green with a bit of clover.  This is my first tablescape and I hope you enjoy it.

I had the Sorrento dishes and all of the glassware and containers already.  I purchased the placemats (4 for $12.99) and napkins (a steal at 4 for $4.99)  at Homegoods.   The burlap I used for my runner was left over from my mantle banner.  I also wrapped the pot of clover with the scrap I had left over.  

I made the napkin rings from an old piece of cluny lace I had and a toilet paper tube. So simple.  Just cut the tube up, ran my tape runner around the cardboard and adhered the lace to the tube.  It was a little less than 6" of lace for each ring.

I found some moss accessories at various places - the rocks were from Marshall's ($7.99), the fern ball from Pat Catan's ($4.89).  The Moss placemat was from a little shop in Amish Country in Ohio.

The birds and nests  were bought 2 years ago at that same little shop in Amish Country.  After several tries at buying a bundle of daffodils this weekend, I had to settle for tulips for my vases - which are just glass tubes from Target ($2 each)
